About Patrick Deeley
Composer of minimalist piano and
orchestral music for film, TV
and advertising
The Music
I write minimalist music that gives stories space to breathe. My work moves between intimate piano, evolving orchestral textures and atmospheric electronic soundscapes, with a focus on simplicity, emotion and subtle development.
Inspired by nature, place and quiet moments, I create music that supports the picture without competing with it - whether that a gentle piano cue beneath a reflective scene. or an orchestral build carrying a story towards its emotional crescendo.
Background
Based in the UK, Patrick holds an MMus in Composition from Royal Holloway, University of London. His music has been released across a growing catalogue of piano, orchestral and electronic collections, written for both listening and sync. He is a member of PRS for Music and writes music for visual storytellers seeking distinctive music for picture.
Inspiration
Much of my music begins with a place. A landscape. A journey. A particular atmosphere or moment that stays with me.
From the northern lights of Iceland to the forests of the Isle of Arran, these experiences often become the starting point that sparks my connection to nature through music.
