Behind the Project

Moments of Magic (2025) is a collection of ten tracks inspired by a visit to Iceland in April 2025, when I witnessed the aurora borealis. Standing beneath the greens and purples, it felt like time had paused. This project captures that feeling of awe and wonder that nature inspires.

Sound World

The music explores shimmering tonal colours: orchestral strings supported by piano, woodwind and soft brass. Through slowly evolving minimalist textures, the development captures the shimmers in the sky of the aurora.

Each individual track is ideally suited for uplifting TV and advertising productions. The collection of tracks share production features including instrumentation, reverb, sound design and tempi; allowing them to seamlessly blend within a production requiring multiple cues.

 

There are no gen AI generated sounds in this collection, live instruments and voice only. A felted upright piano forms the foundation for many cues, with orchestral layered textures providing warmth and intimacy. All reverbs in this project are from my collection of impulse responses.

Designed for Sync

Each track was composed with advertising and sync in mind. Clear emotional direction building to climax points. Cues in this collection elevate storytelling without pulling focus away from screen, ideal for brands looking to convey optimism. Stems and alternate versions are readily available.

Moments of Magic offers a musical language of hope, beauty, and stillness. All tracks are available for licensing or customisation on request.
